The Panel is exclusively engaged to source an Investment Accountant on behalf of a reputable Asset Manager in Dublin city centre on a permanent basis
The role encompasses all aspects of the day-to-day investment accounting and reporting issues relating to client accounts. The successful candidate will work closely with the portfolio managers to coordinate all client support as well as corresponding on a regular basis with the client’s investment / accounting department and custodian banks. The day to day role will be working primarily with Excel and SAP Business Objects, along with the accounting and operations systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in SQL and will be analytically minded and able to adapt to new systems quickly. There is an emphasis on constant process improvement through automation in order to enhance efficiency of the month end reporting cycle, to which the person will be expected to contribute. They will be comfortable manipulating large amounts of data to extract and present data in a required format. They should be able to exploit information in databases to slice and dice data as required.
The salary for this role is negotiable depending on experience and includes an excellent benefits package

Responsibilities
- Post, reconcile and review custodian/bank transactions
- Monthly reconciliation of account records to the custodial records, including cash, holdings, transactions, income and dividends;
- Coordinate and resolve any outstanding issues relating to holdings, transactions and income;
- Prepare monthly investment reporting package under different accounting conventions- Lloyds, UK GAAP, US GAAP & IFRS;
- Create reporting efficiencies through Excel VBA macros, SQL queries and other automation tools
- Managing client accounting relationships, regular communication with counterparts in client finance functions (at least one trip to London each year to meet clients
- Assist portfolio managers in servicing the client:
- These activities may include preparing monthly portfolio performance and assisting in the preparation of miscellaneous client requests.
- Process unmanaged trades received from third party asset managers.
- Liaise with external auditors, providing backup for internal controls (SSAE 18) and GIPS performance audits.
- There is scope for the role to evolve to support financial controller in preparation of management accounts, financial statements and regulatory reporting to the Central Bank.
